Dr Andi Alperin

PRINCIPAL CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST | BOARD APPROVED SUPERVISOR | CREDENTIALED EATING DISORDER CLINICIAN

When somebody comes to see me, my goal is to provide you with a space to reflect, to explore, to try new things, to learn about yourself, and most of all to feel heard and understood without judgement. My therapeutic approach uses humour, openness, flexibility, and empathy to help you feel comfortable and free to be yourself. I will learn about you as a person - your values, your strengths, and areas in which you would like support. Together, we will work collaboratively to take steps towards achieving your goals.

Individual Therapy

I enjoy working with people from all walks of life and across all presentations, including people who have more complicated experiences such as eating disorders, trauma, neurodivergence, and personality disorders. My focus is on understanding you as a person. In particular, I am interested in how your past experiences affect you currently, and in working together to support you in learning new patterns to move forward. I work within relational and process-focused frameworks such as Schema Therapy and psychodynamic therapy. I look forward to working together with you to support you in building the life you’d like to lead.

Couples Therapy

In relationships we often unintentionally replay old, familiar patterns that can become dysfunctional. Within couples therapy we work together to understand and shape these patterns to bring you closer and be able to overcome any challenge together.

Professional Supervision

In supervision, my aim is similar as within therapy: to foster within you your own personal wisdom to be able to better understand your clients and how you work together, regardless of therapeutic orientation. Interpersonally I value an open, friendly, fun, and collaborative relationship that feels equal and allows us to learn from each other.
