ADHD & ASD Assessments
At GrayMind Psychology, we offer assessment processes to help determine whether you meet the diagnostic criteria for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). We offer assessments for adults who may be experiencing challenges in their attention, executive functioning skills, such as task initation and completion, planning, organisation, impulse control, and working memory, social communication and interaction, emotional understanding and regulation, and sensory sensitivity.
The assessment process involves an intake interview, behavioural observations, completion of various questionnaires, semi-structured clinical interview with yourself and important others (if relevant), and related assessment.
-
Session 1 (2 hours): An initial interview designed to gather comprehensive background information such as your developmental, social, and educational history. The second hour is included to further investigate all aspects of your mental health in addition to concerns regarding neurodevelopmental disorders.
Session 2 (2 hours): Administration of semi-structured clinical interview and assessment specific to the neurodevelopmental disorder being assessed.
Between sessions 2 and 3, your assessment clinician will write a report collating the assessment information gathered, depending on your goals and outcomes. Further information on report options is provided in the below tab. Your assessment clinician may also review school reports, previous assessments, or liaise with other health professionals who support you.
Session 3 (1 hour): A feedback session with your assessment clinician to explore the results of your assessment, recommendations for the future, and management strategies
*Note: The above procedure is applicable to an ADHD or ASD assessment. If you wish to explore both diagnoses at the same time, an extra hour of assessment or report writing time is required to ensure a comprehensive investigation.
