PSYCHOLOGIST (PROVISIONAL)

Abigail Ellerton

My approach to therapy is grounded in empathy, authenticity, and genuine human connection. I see it as a privilege to be entrusted with your vulnerability, and my role is to walk alongside you with curiosity and care. I prioritise collaboration so that you feel heard and so that therapy remains centred on your goals and values.

In our work together, I aim to help you make sense of past experiences and explore any patterns that may be shaping the present. I work with people navigating a wide range of concerns, including mood, identity, and interpersonal difficulties. I also have an interest in supporting neurodivergent individuals and those who have experienced trauma. I have worked with clients across the lifespan, from children and adolescents through to adults and older people, and I value practicing in ways that are culturally safe and inclusive.

My approach is integrative and flexible, grounded in relational and attachment-informed perspectives. I believe that you are the expert in your own life, and I will bring my clinical knowledge and practical expertise to collaboratively tailor therapy for your unique goals and context. I welcome feedback on how sessions feel for you and place the safety of the therapeutic relationship at the centre of our work. I draw on evidence-based modalities including Schema Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I have also undertaken specialist training in CBT-E with QuEDS (eating disorders).

I am currently accepting individual therapy clients aged 15 and over. My aim is to create a therapeutic space that is neuro-affirming, culturally safe, and inclusive of all people.

It would be a privilege to support you as you move toward greater understanding, growth, and wellbeing here at GrayMind.
