Maggie Freeman
CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST
I believe the foundation of effective therapy lies in a genuine and collaborative therapeutic relationship that fosters safety, comfort, and trust. I strive to build this connection creatively and openly, welcoming your feedback to ensure your treatment experience feels supportive and tailored to your needs. I understand that it’s common to become “stuck” in unhelpful patterns of thinking, feeling, or coping, and I am committed to helping you notice this and work through these challenges.
I am a Clinical Psychologist with diverse experience across inpatient and outpatient services, correctional facilities, and, most recently, a specialist eating disorders service in Victoria. Since completing my Master of Clinical Psychology in 2019, I have developed a strong passion for working with adolescents and young adults and I value involving both personal and professional supports in treatment.
While I have worked with people experiencing a broad range of challenges, I have a particular interest in supporting individuals experiencing disordered eating, body image concerns, self-harm or suicidal thoughts, substance use, difficulties with emotional regulation, and anxiety.
My approach is person-centred and I acknowledge the importance of taking the time to understand your unique concerns and collaboratively exploring practical steps to help you move toward your goals.
I enjoy using the following therapeutic modalities:
Person-Centered Approach
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Enhanced Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT-E)
Family Based Therapy (FBT)
Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) informed
Exposure Therapy for Anxiety Disorders
Temperament Based Treatment with Supports (TBT-S) informed
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
Additionally, I am a board-approved supervisor, providing supervision to provisional, general, and clinical psychologists.
I am eager to support you here at GrayMind.
